Malted Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies

Although these cookies look like ordinary chocolate chip cookies, these cookies have little bit of a different take on the standard chocolate chipper. The difference is malted milk powder. It may sound different but it gives the chocolate a fuller chocolate flavor in my opinion. It twists your ordinary chocolate chip cookie to extraordinary. Although you taste the malted milk powder, it does not overpower the cookie. The malt also gives the cookies a nice brown color with a hint of pink. If you are a malted milk drinker or malt ball eater, this cookie is definitely for you! Even if you don't, you might be converted after these cookies!

cups all-purpose flour
cup malted milk powder
1/2 teaspoons baking soda
teaspoon salt
cup granulated sugar
cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
cup unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
cup (12 oz) milk chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 350 F
2. In medium bowl, combine flour, malted milk powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well with a whisk and set aside
3. Blend sugars in a large bowl using electric mixer. Add butter and mix, occasionally scraping down the sides of the bowl. Add the eggs, vanilla, and condensed milk and beat at medium speed until light and fluffy
4. Add the flour mixture in three batches. Stir in chocolate chips by hand. Do not overmix batter
5. Drop by the rounded tablespoon on ungreased cookie sheets, 2 inches apart. Bake 12-1 minutes until cookies are slightly browned along edges. Transfer to a cool surface immediately

Yield: 3-1/2 dozen
